StYLiD: Social Information Sharing with Free Creation of Structured Linked Data

I presented this paper about StYLiD in the Social Web and Knowledge Management Workshop (SWKM 2008), April 22nd, co-located at the 17th World Wide Web Conference WWW2008, Beijing, China. It was a half-day workshop with only 6 selected papers. The session was interesting and very relevant to my area of research.  This was my first time to attend the WWW conference. Quite an honor to be in such a great conference

Semantic Web Pipes

The presentation about the Semantic Web Pipes from DERI in the WWW 2008 conference, developers track was very impressive. It is based on the idea of yahoo pipes of mixing and channeling data through operators, but for semantically structured data which offers more powerful operations. It also offers impressive GUI for handling the pipes though not as beautiful as yahoo pipes GUI. Sometime ago I had also presented similar idea of Semantic Web pipes for SocioBiblog, a semantic blogging system for decentralized flow of bibliographic information in communities. However, it only had limited operations of mixing feeds and filtering by metadata elements.

Where to Find Open Data on the Web - ReadWriteWeb

Useful post, nice collection of resources for open data on the web. It is good to see that so many people are working on having open data on the web for everyone. I also took the chance to mention about StYLiD in the comments .. which will also gather open data on the web, structured and shared by the users.

Nice new idea - tagging using colors! However, I am not sure how well people can associate music to colors. I think it would be rather appropriate to use color tagging to other things that can directly be associated to colors - like photos, designs or products.
